H&M = Holy Mackerel

The Back of the newly renovated Lincoln Theater with long lines for H &M

For those of you living under a rock, you may be interested to know that H&M opened on Lincoln road today. Oh Miami, way to be about a decade behind! Thousands of fashion obsessed Miami folk eagerly waited in line for hours, simply to be among the first to set their flip flops upon the floors of Miami's first H&M superstore.  I must say, there has been quite a lot of waiting in line for Miami residents this week. Waiting for six hours to vote is apparently a travesty of democracy, but waiting fifteen hours for mass produced economical attire ... clearly a no brainer!

Most notably, H&M is located inside the historic and architecturally stunning Lincoln Theater. My guess is that few of the trendsters on site today were aware that the classic Art Deco theater was designed in 1935 by the renowned cinema architect, Thomas Lamb. The original facade has been beautifully preserved and rumor has it that several structural and design elements within the building have been resurrected. As I always say, there is no better way to feature one of the most beautiful and historic Art Deco cinemas in the country, then to throw an H&M inside.

All disparaging aside, I intend to shamelessly return to Lincoln this weekend in search of some thrifty threads. Toodles!
